Families come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Biology does NOT make a family. Humans can be so weird sometimes. I am thankful my humans understand the true meaning of family. They have a blended family with adopted children, biological children, and furry kids. Bloodlines are NOT important to them. They love all their kids, human and furry! They do not show favor or partiality. I just wish more humans could "get it" and I know my Mom and Dad feel the same way when they try to tell others about their kids, grandkids, and furry kids! I can sometimes feel the frustration when people do NOT understand our definition of family.
A family is a group of humans or furry critters that love, support, and pray for one another! Could some of my followers please pray with me. The world could be a much better place if people would follow this simple principle!

The picture of you and your furry siblings goes right along with the theme of this post! Just because you don't look alike or share the same bloodline doesn't mean you can't be a family! I have human brothers and a rabbit brother. I think I get along better with them than I would a dog brother (or sister)!

Good definition, Sitka. Please add to it -- sometimes "kids" are not adopted but just become part of the family. They are family, too. It does not require a legal connection any more than a blood connection.

We have a blended family too- Two children from my hubby, one adopted, two biological, plus 3 completey different breed dogs, and 2 completely different breed cats. We Agree completely with you and are glad we found your blog!!! :) Sitka, you are one smart pup!!! :)
