Sitka's World

Mom and Dad have been working a lot in our yard. We have two acres of trees, lots of weeds, leaves, and maintenance. This past weekend our human brother, Seth brought a friend and helped Dad remove a very large oak tree that had fallen in a recent storm. Mom and Dad are thankful for Seth and his friend Josh's help. There is no way they could have cleaned the tree up by themselves.

Recently, Mom was diagnosed with arthritis in her shoulders and neck. She has been in a lot of pain. The medications are helping and mom is learning to pace herself. Nanuq and I totally understand how mom feels. We both have to take medication for arthritis in our knees and hips. Sometimes, Nanuq falls and can't get up on his own. Mom and Dad always help him get back to his feet and steady himself before they let go. I suppose we all need to remember with age comes complications. Maybe God is trying to teach us about what is most important. Maybe HE wants us to slow down and enjoy life here on earth.

Just a little view into my world~

Update on Nanuq

Mom, Nanuq, and I sure do wish we were sitting on top of the mountain, today. Instead we are hanging out at home. On Friday, Mom and Dad noticed Nanuq had a cut near his eye. Dad took Nanuq to the see our favorite doggie doctors at Town and Country Vet. They  found a deep cut. They asked Nanuq and Dad what happened. Dad had no idea and Nanuq refused to tell. They put three or four stitches in it and gave him some antibiotics. Dad is still trying to get him to explain what happened, but Nanuq refuses to talk about it. Trouble and I would never betray him, even if we knew. Mom and Dad are just going to have to get wiser and figure it out on their own.

PS: Thanks for your continued prayers for Nanuq. He is still moving slowly, but his new arthritis medication does seem to help him.

Dad Is Caught

Do you see it? Dad is caught kissing another fur baby! Trouble, Nanuq, and I could hardly believe it when we found this picture on Mom's camera. What in the world was Dad thinking?

Mom says not to worry! This fur baby is special. She belongs to Dad's cousin and her name is "Hokie."

I suppose we will forgive him this time. After all, he has lots of love to go around.

Catching Up

Mom and I have not been blogging as much as we should, lately. It's been a bit busy around here. In two weeks we have lost two large red oaks. Each of them fell through our fence. Then one of our gas hot water heaters died. Mom and Dad have repaired the fence, but don't have either of the trees and their mess up, yet. They cut them out of the fence on each side. I'm not sure you would call what they did to the fence a repair, but it works until they can fix them correctly.

Update on Nanuq: Dad took Nanuq back to see our favorite doggie doctors. They said he has arthritis and gave him a Rx. It is pretty good stuff. I have been taking it for a while now, myself. The down side is it costs our parents big bucks. I sure am glad they have been able to give us what we need. There are lots of fur babies and humans out there who don't always have the medicine and health care they need.
