Pray For Nanuq

Poor Nanuq is having a tough week. First, he was told by our vet that he is "overweight" and must go on a doggie diet. For those of you who do not know Nanuq is "very" afraid of thunderstorms. Mom and Dad have spent lots of time working with him, but he still gets scared. Monday night we experienced severe thunderstorms. At first, nanuq was sleeping peacefully. We were all excited to see his progress. Then, an earth-shattering thunderbolt struck! Poor Nanuq awoke and began pacing and panting! Every time we would get him settled another large bolt of lightening and thunder would come. At one point, Nanuq wanted to get in the bed with Mom and Dad and they let him. Soon, he became anxious and leaped off the bed, injuring his leg.
Mom and Dad have him on pain/anti-inflammatory medicine and are trying to keep him calm until he heals.

Thank you for joining in prayer with us for Nanuq!

Doggie Diet

Nanuq had his annual doggie physical this week. Dr. Jordan put him on a doggie diet. I am not going to reveal his weight gain for the year, but we will just say, "it was NOT good." Mom and Dad were both shocked, because they are diligent to measure our food and keep us on a schedule. Dr. Jordan explained, "When dogs and people get older their metabolism changes and they need to cut their food back or they will gain weight."

Poor Nanuq! They are cutting his food in HALF and to make matters worse they implied he was getting OLD! Nurse Nancy tried to give Nanuq a treat before he left and he refused to take it!

Don't you think they hurt his furry feelings?

Do you get your feelings hurt when you go to the doctor and he speaks the truth?

Sometimes the truth is hard to accept! Nanuq is working on it and we are all here to love and support him!

That's NOT Fair

Watching the news last night, I learned Oklahoma is enjoying a wonderful snowstorm and they do NOT appreciate it. They were complaining because it is spring and they have snow. I am complaining because they got my snow and it was 80 degrees here, yesterday.

When we awoke this morning it was raining. I don't want rain. I want snow!

Mom says, "we always want what we don't have or what someone else has....we are not satisfied with what GOD has given us." Boy does Mom know how to make me feel bad for complaining about not getting the snow. GOD has blessed me with a wonderful family, a great home, and an awesome job. What more could I ask for?

"Snow and lots of it," I say to Mom. Seriously, today I will try to be thankful and not fret about others getting the weather I like. How about you? What do you have to be thankful for?

Update on Macy

Wil and Macy!

Macy continues to hang in there. Her tumors are continuing to grow, but she seems comfortable and content. Mom and I decided to share this sweet picture of my human brother, Wil holding Macy while we were at the beach. Wil was 2 years old when Mom adopted Macy and Macy was 3 years old. They have grown up together. Mom use to say that Macy thought Wil was her baby and I think she still does.

Thank you to each of you who continue to pray for Macy and our family.

Back To Business

Last night, Nanuq and I visited the patients at CSH, Petersburg, Virginia. We were happy to see them and they seemed happy that we came. There were a couple of new patients. One older lady stands out in my mind, this morning. She was a bit unsteady and shaky. At first she was afraid, but mom told her the reason I was howling (speaking malamute to her) was because I wanted her to pet me. As soon as she leaned down, I rolled over and she began to rub me. She had a great big smile on her face.

It was great to get back to business. I am thankful we could visit. I hope all of you are doing well. Ms. Ina left a comment on my last article saying, "We are having a blizzard." I must admit, I am a bit jealous. It was 70 degrees here, yesterday and Ms. Ina gets to play in the snow. I am sending Ms. Ina a big furry cyber hug and I hope she thinks of me each time GOD gives her more winter wonderland.

Pray for Macy

Macy

Macy is mom's 16 year old deaf Cocker Spaniel. Macy has been through a lot with Mom. She came into Mom's life when her youngest human son, Wil was 3 years old. She adopted Macy at 2 years old, so they have grown up, together.

In February, it was time for Macy's yearly doggie check-up. This time the news is not good. Macy has re-occurring mammary and peripheral nerve cancer. There are lots of new little nodules under her belly and chest (mammary cancer) and a tumor returning on her back (peripheral nerve cancer). She also has a heart murmur. This time she is not physically well enough to withstand another surgery. She is doing quite well under the circumstances. She does not seem to be in pain. She spends most of her time curled up in Mom and Dad's bed sleeping.

Please pray for Macy. Mom hopes and prays she will go peacefully when it is God's time. Please also pray for Mom. She seems to be handling it well, but I know it will be difficult for her. Mom is quite attached to all of us.

Thank you for following my furry blog, praying for those that are important to both Mom and I, and making a difference in the world. Mom and I are thankful for each of you. We never imagined GOD would bring so many followers and friends into our lives. May GOD bless each of you!

We're Home

We are home, safe and sound! We enjoyed a wonderful vacation. Thanks to everyone for you prayers for safe travel.

Since we returned, Mom's internet service has been misbehaving. Hopefully, it will be working well from now on, but you never know.

It is raining and snowing, here in Richmond, Virginia. It is just plain messy. We are not getting any accumulation. Hope each of you are staying safe and warm.
