I Smell Snow

Sitka,
Savannah,
and Trouble

I smell the snow headed our way. I am super excited! I love playing in God's beautiful fluffy creation. The weather man says, "6-9 inches for our area." WOW!! Just enough to have a furry good time!

Hope everyone has a beautiful, warm, and happy weekend. Please do not forget to take extra special care of your furry kids if it is COLD where you live.

A Tub of Love

Savannah was playing in my Dad's old tub. I decided it looked like fun. I climbed in with her and Mom took our picture. Savannah is my parents first grandchild. They adore her and so do I. She is quite polite with us furry kids. She is 2 1/2 years old and understands she must be polite and kind to animals. I wish everyone understood how important it is to teach their little children to be gentle with animals.

We enjoyed our weekend with Savannah. Maybe she can stay with us again, soon.

Sox

Our kitty brother, Sox is still pulling his hair out. Mom is quite concerned. He is on medicine and she is trying to give him extra love. Mom thinks he is sad, because his human brothers have all grown up and either moved away or stay quite busy. Mom thinks he is lonely. He loves all of us furry critters accept me (sitka). I am a little annoying with him. He doesn't like the extra attention I try to give him. I don't understand what the big deal is about chasing him through the house and nosing him around with my snout. Anyway, he doesn't like me much. He loves Nanuq, Trouble, and Macy. Mom has been trying to convince me to become calmer when he is around, but he is just so cute and I love to chase him. I don't hurt him....I promise. It is all about the chase. Even if he scratches me, I don't harm a furry hair on his body.

Sox

Wil (our human brother) and Sox (our kitty brother).

Did I mention we have a kitty brother to go with our 3 human brothers? This is Sox. Mom rescued him about 3 years ago. He was in a drain pipe on a farm in rural Virginia with his kitty siblings. Mom could hold him in her hand when she brought him home. She crate trained him and even trained him to walk on a leash. Mom and I need to find those pictures to show you.

Sox weighs 15 pounds and if you saw him standing up you would be able to tell he is NOT fat. He is just a big boy. He is quite long and tall. These pictures make him look fat, but they are the most recent.

Last week, Mom took Sox to the vet. He has been biting and pulling his own hair out. Apparently, something is bothering my kitty brother. Our vet prescribed anti-anxiety medicine for Sox. He is better, but we still catch him doing it occasionally. Please pray for Sox. He looks a little strange with hunks of fur missing and we do not want him to be stressed.

We all love Sox. Mom says he is a dog trapped in a cats body. He comes when you call him. He is very sweet, loving, and gentle. He even lets mom clip his nails and does not fight her when she has to give him medicine. He is a gentle giant.

Mom's Back

Mom has been gone "all" weekend. My furry sister, brothers, and I do NOT like it when Mom and Dad are away. We try to understand they must go some places without us, but we do NOT like it.

Last week, Mom's great aunt Mary (Mel) died. She was 99 3/4 years old. Mom and Dad traveled to S.C. for her funeral. They left on Thursday morning and returned on Saturday night. I would have posted while they were away, but Mom did not leave the laptop for me. My big furry paws would have tried to dance across the keyboard in her absence.

Mom will rest and we will return to our normal routine. Mom says, "our life is not normal" and likely it isn't, but we "LOVE" the life GOD has given us. Our parents love us (their furry kids) and all humans unconditionally. I am sure it is hard for them sometimes, but they love everyone.

Keeping Your Furry Kids Warm

Just dropping in to remind everyone to take extra special care of your furry kids. My fur is good for 40 below, but that does not mean I like to stay out in it. Most doggies do not have fur like mine and they can freeze to death in this kind of weather.

We prefer to be inside, but if you can not allow your dogs to come inside, please....please....please make sure they have heated shelter with lots of warm blankets, thawed water, an a little extra food. We burn extra calories trying to stay warm.

I thank GOD my parents are able to allow us to live inside. My furry sister, brothers, and I would not like living outside all the time.

Happy Birthday Macy!

Macy is my older furry sister. She turned 16 years young, yesterday! Macy has beat cancer twice. Mom is very particular about what she eats. She keeps her on a special diet, so there was NO cake for her. Mom did allow Dad to give her organic sirlon steak in her breakfast and dinner. She "loved" it.

Macy mostly eats and sleeps. Her favorite place to sleep is on Mom and Dad's bed.

Responsibilities

Tonight, Dad was not feeling well. I stayed home to take care of him and Mom took Nanuq to Dog Therapy at Central State Hospital. Nanuq had a great evening giving furry hugs and getting belly rubs. I was happy to keep Dad company while Mom was away. I missed Dog Therapy, but sometimes Mom gives me other important responsibilities. Tonight, it was my job to make sure Dad was happy and okay. Mom said, both our jobs are equally important.

Happy New Year

Just dropping in to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I know I am a few days late and as mom would say, "a few dollars short." I have not forgotten about any of you. I love you all and wish I could meet each of you. I would love to have belly rubs and hugs from each of you.

Each of us at The Perdue Zoo look forward to an awesome New Year. We pray each of you will be blessed like never before.
