Macy Trades Her Earthly Paws For Heavenly Wings

Yesterday afternoon, Macy traded in  her earthly paws for heavenly wings. She was a blessing to our family, human and furry for so many years. She spent 16 1/2 years selflessly giving love and being there for our humans when they were alone or hurt. Macy taught us furry siblings many valuable lessons. She was clearly our senior by many years and knew the ways of the world. She will be missed by each of us, human and furry  more than we can express.

Our human Mommie and Daddy are out of town. Our human brother, Wil had to take Macy to the vet  yesterday. We are proud of Wil for doing what was best for Macy. We know it was terribly difficult for him. He held her in his arms most of the morning. He knew those would be his last hours with her this side of heaven. Macy came into our family when Wil was 3 years old and she was 2 years old. Mom often said, "Macy thinks Wil is her puppy." It was quite evident she loved everyone, but favored Wil and Mom.

Thank you, Wil for being the young man GOD created you to be and the big human brother Macy needed. We love you and are very proud of you. We could not ask for a better human brother.

Woofs and Wags,

Sitka

Sending big hugs to all of you during this time. Very courageous of Wil-it is the hardest thing a human has to do but clearly the most loving. So sad that Mom and Dad were out of town-it is never easy loosing such a beloved pet.
My heart breaks for all of you.
With love & prayers,

Our dog, Blondie, is also 16 years. I can't imagine the gamut of emotions you are feeling right now.

I know you are very proud of your son...what a strong young man Wil is!

May the memories of Macy bring you comfort, knowing that SHE knew she was deeply loved.

Praying for your family...

I am so sad to hear about Macy passing. She has reached so many hearts with her endurance and bravery and we are many that are saddened and share the pain of your loss.

Will is obviously the one who was meant to have this final privilige with Macy. What a sad but blessed moment. May her beautiful little soul rest in peace.

Blessings to you all.

Oh, Sitka, the blogosphere will miss Macy, too. What a good brother Wil is, but it must be very hard for him. My son was 9 when his cat died in his arms at the vet's. That was sad, too.

BTW, I want to let you and other followers know that my Blest Atheist blogspot went down. I replaced it with 100th Lamb (www.emahlou.blogspot.com). I explain why there.

Sorry, I am just getting around to reading some of the blogs. I am so sorry for your loss. I have lost several of our beloved dogs over the years, and I cry every time. They are truly a member of the family, and when they have to leave us, it hurts.

We are so very sorry to read about Macy's passing. She lived a long time, what a blessing to have had her with you for so long.

Sorry we haven't been around much but Mommy has been so busy keeping up with Shelby. She is is looking so much better now but she still has a long way to go.

Mommy was reading some of your July 8th post & it made her cry. She agrees 100% with your definition of family.
