Being De-fluffed!

Yesterday, mom spent several hours de-fluffing Nanuq and I.  She brushed and brushed and brushed. In the end, she had a garbage  bag of undercoat. Unfortunately for mom, there is still more to shed. Mom works hard to keep us brushed, but we are "big, furry" guys! She also clipped our nails. Neither of us like to have our nails clipped, but mom gets cranky if we try to act up. I always turn my toes under, hoping she want see how long they are, but she makes me straighten out my toes and clips them, anyway. Mom is exhausted and her arms are tired, but we look great!

Please continue to pray for our furry family. Macy is doing well for the ripe old age of 16. She is back to sleeping on mom's bed and enjoying life. Nanuq's knee is a little better, but mom is not satisfied with his progress. She is concerned. He rests comfortably on his big orthopedic pillow. Sometimes, Macy sneaks in and takes it over. Poor Nanuq just stares at her. Eventually, mom and dad will move Macy and give him the special bed back.

Woofs and wags,

Sitka

All the dogs get brushed daily so the amount of dead hair isn't as much and their coat is shinier.
Our prayers to your family :)

Oh, but don't you feel so much better after getting brushed and your nails clipped? You sure do look nice.

Hello Andrea! Sorry it has taken me so long to get over to you! So glad to hear Macy is comfortable! VERY SORRY about your friend's poodle, those little guys just rip out your heart when they go. I was at Joan's bridge dinner party last night and one of the guests was telling me that they had lived in Ohio previously and had their late poodle, Tinkerbelle, buried in a pet cemetary there. Now that they live in Anchorage, they personally returned to Ohio, had Tinkerbelle exhumed from her grave, cremated and brought back here!! Now those are some pet lovers!!

Thanks Andrea as always for your great kindness. It means a lot. xoxoxo

In the news recently, people have been sending hair to the Gulf of Mexico clean up crews, since hair absorbs oil. I wonder if you could send the doggy fur there? Just wondering.

I missed your posts Sitka. I have so much going on right now I just can't get around to my blog visits much lately.

I know how your mom feels when it comes to shedding. My Tobi is part Chow and I pulled enough fluff off of her to make a whole 'nother dog!

She won't sit still for me to brush her but she endures me pulling out the fluff for a while. I found that if I give her a bath right when she starts to shed it loosens up all that extra fluff and within 3 days it has pretty much all fallen out in big clumps.

I'm glad Macy is doing better.

Praying for you all.
Much love!
