Blessings and No's

Mom and Dad have been very busy lately. My human sister is getting married in September and my parents are running around trying to accomplish all the tasks involved to fulfill Lauren's dream of "the perfect wedding." Humans can be weird, sometimes. They spend too much time concerned about things that are not important.

My parents are trying desperately to keep my human sister focused on what is important. Recently, she asks for hair extensions and told Dad they would cost $2000. My Dad is very even tempered and calm, but his human feathers were ruffled upon this request. He said, NO. I will not pay for hair extensions.

I was proud of Dad for standing firm. He loves his "little human girl" with all his heart and wants to bless her with beautiful gifts. However, Dad wants Lauren to learn the value of money.

Our Heavenly Father longs to bless us with wonderful gifts, but sometimes HE says, "NO." Our feelings may be hurt at first, but later we realize HIS answer is based upon what is best for us.

Please keep Dad and Mom in your prayers as they balance the overflowing doggie bowl full of life's adventures and challenges. Thank you for faithfully following me.

Woofs and Wags,

Sitka

Praying for your mom and dad Sitka.

Just this morning I received quite a blessing that I know came from my obedience to God's "NO".

There is a lot to still be learned even as our children grow. They still look to their parents for direction and permission. It's just a part of growing up.

I adore your blog -- I'm a big animal lover, but suffer from severe allergies -- can't even own a hampster (sigh)

I sneak a few minutes with my daughter's friend's dog to take away the desire.

Your family is in my prayers.
I'm keep following your blog.

Learning what a need and want is a importaint lesson--funny-dogs seem to know this-humans have to work on this.
Cheers.

Sitka,

Maybe if Mom & Dad collected all the fur that I'm sure you and your pack shed, they could MAKE hair extensions for your human sister! Otto has plenty of fur to donate for the cause!! :-)

This picture brought tears to my eyes. This dog is identical to my malamute that passed away. Ours had to be put to sleep this summer at age 15 because she had cancer. Is this a malamute or a husky? I hope someday I can find another one just like the one I had to add to our family. I miss our furry family member soooooo bad.

Sitka is an alaskan malamute! He is 4 years old and the love of our life. As you can see, he is pretty smart. He has his own blog.
Blessings, andrea

Hehe ..that was a cute little chitchat.. love your doggy voice.. And hope the wedding isn't too expennsive..
.................way-way back when I got married we did alot of the things ourselves..mom sewed all the dresses, and hired local inexpensive floral arrangers, cake designers.. etc.. the wedding was still really pretty without the huge expence~(:) But now I think of how hard my mom must of had to work making all the dresses (2 bridesmaid plus mine)ugh~
