Urgent Prayer Request for David

Please pray for my human Uncle David. He lives in Pensacola, Florida. He has Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia. He has been doing well for sometime, but recently his blood-work has not been what the doctors would like for it to be. He begins a new treatment plan next week.

I love Uncle David. He is an awesome guy. He loves the ocean and he loves us furry kids, too. Once, when I visited He allowed me to leave the kitchen door open all week long so I could go out and in when I pleased. Now how many humans would let a furry kid have this privilege? Many humans yell at their human kids for leaving the door open. Apparently, my happiness was more important to Uncle David than the power bill. I told you he is an awesome guy! So please, please, please pray GOD heals his body.

Introducing My Hound Buddies

Today, I introduce to my hound friends. From left to right, Alvin, Hank, and Kramer. Kramer and I went to dog obedience and dog therapy training together. He is a therapy dog, too. All three hounds were rescued over the last seven or so years by my parents friend, Jane. She loves her "hound dogs!" You must admit, they are quite handsome.

Skunky Neighbor

My neighbors a street over are two very large German Shepherds, Wolfie and Timber. Their humans rescued them from dire circumstances and have been teaching them the ways of "living the good doggie life." They each weigh over 100 pounds. Their original owners were NOT nice people. They were abusive. They came to their new home with lots of doggie fears. They are beautiful dogs and have developed socially and made lots of progress. They even go to my favorite vet, Dr. Jordan, because he speaks "German Shepherd" and "Malamute." He can get us furry kids to do just about anything. We love him.

At 5:00 AM this morning, Wolfie and Timber had a little adventure. Going out to potty became more than their humans bargained for. Wolfie was sprayed in the face by a skunk. Wolfie did not take this too kindly and the skunk did not live to tell his story. Timber wanted in on the action and rolled in the smelly stuff. It is rumored, even their humans stunk. Mom sure hopes their skunk relatives don't come knocking at our house!

I Missed It

Isn't she cute? Mom and Dad visited Shenandoah National Park on Friday. Sadly, I did not get to go. They took their human granddaughter, Savannah. I would have love to play with this little gal. She looks like lots of furry fun! However, I missed it!

Today's Furry Adventure!

Adventures abound in "The Perdue Zoo." Today, I found a new furry friend or shall I say, he found me. The little guy was so small he could get inside our fence without opening a gate. He is a cute little 3-4 pound chihuahua.

Dad came looking for me and this is when the furry fun leaped into a furry adventure. My new friend did not realize my humans meant him no harm. He went into an overgrown area on the back of our property. I went with him. Mom and Dad tried to talk me into bringing the little guy out, but he was too afraid and I stayed with him. He sat under my chin for a while and then after about 30 minutes or so, Dad made his way through the brush. At the sight of Dad, my new little furry friend climbed onto my back. He was NOT going with any human, willingly. Dad tried to slip a leash over the little guys head, but he kept snipping and snarling and actually got a bite of Dad's finger during the "chihuahua dance." Mom said, "your little friend looks like a mouse on steroids."  I suppose he did look a little silly acting so ferocious. I tried my hardest to exude positive furry energy, but the little guy was over the top in fear. I am thankful Mom and Dad were NOT mad at him, but wanted to help him.

Finally, Dad caught him with a fishing net. Then I realized Dad was going to find his human family. I wanted to keep him. He did NOT want to leave me either. I wish Mom and Dad had taken pictures of our furry adventure. No words can capture the scene of my Mom in her PJ's and Dad with his fishing net now holding a tiny chihuahua in it, the little chihuahua soaked with my drool and Mom and Dad soaked with sweat and eaten alive from the mosquitoes. Just another day in "The Perdue Zoo!"

Heat Advisory

We are under an extreme "heat advisory," today! Please check on the elderly and those less fortunate. Please bring your furry kids inside where it is cooler or at least make sure they have plenty of cool water and shelter in a shady area. Take extra special care of those you love, human and canine!

Mom and Dad Are Back

Mom and Dad are finally home. They have been quite busy the last few weeks. Amidst Macy's sickness and death they were also on vacation and were blessed with another human grandchild, Elijah William. Our human sister Lauren and her husband Joe blessed them with their first grandson. Mom and Dad are excited to now have a granddaughter and a grandson! Trouble, Nanuq, and I were thankful to see them. Our human brother Wil did a phenomenal job of taking care of us, but we really missed Mom and Dad. Wil missed them, too. Dad and Wil will run some errands, today while mom stays here with us. Mom has already cleaned the bedroom carpet where Macy had an accident and is attacking the laundry with a vengeance. I am sure she will find other things that need her attention. We, the furry kids and our human Dad hope mom will be able to settle back into a routine of writing, blogging, and enjoying the creativity GOD placed in her heart, soon. Until then, thanks for all the support and prayers of all my faithful followers. You guys are truly the best friends a furry guy could have in this human dominated world. I am sending big furry hugs to each of you.
