I Had My Chance

This afternoon, my human brother, Wil went for a walk. He left the door open. He did not shut it completely when leaving. He must think we live in a barn or something! I laid down by the door, watching through the 4 inch opening. It was open for hours, before Dad noticed.  Dad could not believe I did not leave. What was he thinking? I have got it made. I am not going anywhere. Let it be said, "I had my chance and did not take it."

Being De-fluffed!

Yesterday, mom spent several hours de-fluffing Nanuq and I.  She brushed and brushed and brushed. In the end, she had a garbage  bag of undercoat. Unfortunately for mom, there is still more to shed. Mom works hard to keep us brushed, but we are "big, furry" guys! She also clipped our nails. Neither of us like to have our nails clipped, but mom gets cranky if we try to act up. I always turn my toes under, hoping she want see how long they are, but she makes me straighten out my toes and clips them, anyway. Mom is exhausted and her arms are tired, but we look great!

Please continue to pray for our furry family. Macy is doing well for the ripe old age of 16. She is back to sleeping on mom's bed and enjoying life. Nanuq's knee is a little better, but mom is not satisfied with his progress. She is concerned. He rests comfortably on his big orthopedic pillow. Sometimes, Macy sneaks in and takes it over. Poor Nanuq just stares at her. Eventually, mom and dad will move Macy and give him the special bed back.

Thank You!

Thank you for praying for Macy and our family (furry and human). Macy is doing much better. She doesn't even mind taking her medicine. Mom has not felt well this weekend and we are still having some technical difficulty with our blogs. Mom is not very good with technical stuff and my paws are too big to help figure out these sort of things. God did not create me to be a computer guy. I leave that stuff to the experts. Clearly, Mom and I are NOT experts. It is a miracle she and I can navigate the blog world, at all. As Mom would say, "It's a GOD thing!"  We hope each of you will have a wonderfully blessed week!

Sunshine Award and Praise for Macy

Jessica @ Mia Ma Miah's Diaries gave me the Sunshine award, today. It was a great day to receive this award. Mom needed this award. Our furry sister, Macy has not been doing well. She 16 years old and has re-occurring cancer. She became ill day before yesterday (vomiting and diarrhea). Mom was distraught and that would be putting it mildly. Mom was afraid the cancer had progressed to the point of having to make that decision none of us want to discuss. None of us want Macy to suffer. We do not want to be selfish. Macy is very stoic and Mom is usually very stoic, too. Today was different. Mom was "very" emotional. Mom cried out for prayer here and on facebook and "all" of you responded.

First, I will tell you what happened at the vet. Sources say, "Mom cried through the entire vet visit. She had the staff and doctor crying, too." Dr. Jordan, our most favorite vet said, "It's okay. Macy has an intestinal inflammation." He gave her nausea medicine and antibiotics and sent her home. Macy is a bit cat-like even though she is a Cocker Spaniel. After receiving medicine, she was hungry and ready to go back to her normal routine. Mom bought her some organic yogurt, at Dr. Jordan's suggestion and she scarfed it down. The nausea medicine must be some good stuff. For now, Mom does not have to face life without our furry sister and we are "all" thankful.

Back to the Sunshine Award. Everyone who comes here or to mom's blog, Arise 2 Write, deserves this award. Each of you bring Sunshine into our lives (furry and human). We cherish you "all." We are thankful for your thoughts, concern, love, and prayers.

*Please take the award. If you choose not to post it, know we understand. We just want each of you to know how much you are appreciated. Also, we are still having some technical difficulty and pray it will be better, soon.

A Crazy Week

Last week was a crazy week, here. Mom and Dad spent time with a friend whose husband died, expectantly. They were also privileged to attend a wedding for a beautiful young couple in our community. Amidst their busyness, Nanuq and I contracted a doggie virus. I will spare you the details of our upset tummies. Let's just say, it was not pleasant. Most upsetting was not being able to visit the patients at Central State Psychiatric Hospital last Wednesday night. I hope this week will be a little easier on each of us, human and furry creatures!
