Sitka's Job As A Therapy Dog

While still recovering from knee surgery, I began to ponder what I could share from my furry heart. I realized the need to clarify or try to clarify the term "dog therapy." Therapy reveals itself in many forms. It is often hard for humans to understand the value of my presence in the hospital, nursing home, or other areas, until they witness it for themselves.

I am a rather sensitive furry guy and I normally lead my parents to the person who needs me most. They will tell you it is unexplainable, I say it is divine guidance. My visits always reveal needs and usually visible results with patients, family, and sometimes staff and doctors. Only God knows the need of the heart!

I am a furry vessel to encourage humans as they journey through difficult times. Sometimes, I lay in the floor and receive furry hugs and other times I may encourage a patient to walk or perform physical therapy. Patients relax and become more cooperative when I am around. My journey is different, yet the same. I am in each facility or at community events to make a difference in other peoples lives. In a nutshell, that is my job!!

Woofs and Wags,

Sitka
