Human Prayer Request

"Dog Therapy" starts in the heart of those who love the Lord. My parents and I pray for many people and often I am able to visit with them, but sometimes the distance is too great or other circumstances prohibit visitation.

For some time, my parents have prayed for a High School friend of my human Aunt Courtney (my Mom's sister). Her name is Michelle and she was diagnosed in her early 20's with Multiple Sclerosis. The disease progressed rapidly and now at age 40 her body is frail and weak.

About 10 years ago, Michelle's mother died and her husband divorced her, because he could no longer cope with her illness. Michelle is an only child and her disabled father lived some distance away. After her mom's death her father moved her to a nursing home close to his home in N.C.

As the years passed, my parents have sent cards, pictures of our family, and other goodies. A few years ago, my Mom started sending Michelle books on tape and Cd. At the time, Michelle had become quite depressed and lonely.

God used the books on tape and Cd's to make a difference in Michelle's life. She began a book club in the nursing home and each week meets with other residents to listen and discuss the books. Despite her failing body and slurred speech this ministry gave Michelle purpose. Michelle told my Mom, "I'm hooked now!"

Our family is in the process of obtaining a computer and having voice activation software loaded in hopes Michelle can reconnect with old friends and live out the rest of her days happy and fulfilled. We are confident GOD has a perfect plan to use Michelle's lonely life and frail body for HIS good will and purpose.

It is our hope to surprise Michelle with the new computer and a visit filled with furry friends. Michelle loves animals and will be thrilled when my parents arrive with myself or one of my furry brothers. Please pray for GOD's divine guidance and direction for completion of HIS will for Michelle.

We eagerly await our four hour journey to visit Michelle. May GOD bless each of you as you pray for Michelle. After our visit, I will update you!! My parents are not sure of the time frame at this point; they are waiting for GOD to continue pulling it all together and excited about what HE is doing for Michelle!!

Praying with you...

I will pray for her and your trip. What a blessing it will be to her. My friend has MS but was diagnosed in her 40s, so she doesn't have it as bad as your friend.

I am lifting both Michelle and your entire family up that God will use His amazing power to show compassion and love for everything you are working on doing. May God heal Michelle and make her days as comfortable as possible and may He bless you and your family with the strength as you handle this difficult time. Amen! Love Kat
